What are the auditions for? The Lakefront Youth Theatre Experience is proud to present ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,an all child musical production inspired by the classic holiday poem by Clement C. Moore of the same name. Adapted for children and Directed by Claire Van Cott!

Do I have to sing by myself? Nope. There are roles that only sing with groups, as well as a few roles that do not require singing at all.

When are the rehearsals? Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 7th. They will take place after school from 5:30-8:00pm, Monday through Thursday and Saturday from 9am-5pm. Since we only have two weeks of rehearsal it is really important that you are at every rehearsal.
*Elves and Carolers 1st Rehearsal Friday Dec 11th time TBA.

Where will rehearsals & performances take place? All rehearsals & performances will take place in the Robert E. Nims Theatre on the campus of the
University of New Orleans, 2000 Lakeshore Drive.

Do I have to sign-up for an audition? Yes. Call Mr. Shannon Miller at 504.383.4776 to schedule your audition time.

How do auditions work? Over the two-hour audition session, we will play a variety of theatre games, as well as perform our songs a cappella (without accompaniment) and monologues that we have prepared.

Do my parents have to stay for the audition? Nope. They are more than welcome to stay if they would like, but it is not mandatory.

What should I wear to auditions? Please wear comfortable clothes, something that you can move around freely in. Please wear CLOSED-TOED SHOES (i.e. sneakers, Please NO FLIP FLOPS, CROCS or SANDALS).

What do I have to prepare for the auditions? Select a monologue and a Christmas song  to memorize from the provided Audition Packet.

What do I bring to auditions? Please bring your completed audition form (pg. 2 of the Audition Packet) with a recent picture of yourself.

When will I know if I have been cast? On Monday, November 30th, you will be notified if you have been cast.

Does it cost any money to be a part of the show? Nope! Casting is completely Audition Based. Tickets sales pay for the show.

When are the performances? The performances will be Friday, December  18th at 7:00pm, Saturday, December 19th at 10:00am & 3:00pm and Sunday, December 20th at 3:00pm. 

How much are tickets and where can they be purchased? Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased beginning 1st rehearsal December 7th. Public sale begins Thursday December 10th. Tickets may be purchased on-line, with order form, and in person 1hour prior to performance.
